SOLD!! Bird Pattern Treasure Box

Two sides of box. One appears to have a bluejay in a leafy tree with a bluejay feather attached. Another side has a large white water bird, an Ibis or egret, about to dive into the water or take flight. Further image description in text.

Top and one side of box. Top shows a brown hawk with a red wing. Side is difficult to make out, but is very colorful and has some sort of feathery thing on one side.

Treasure box in bird house shape, made of ink-jet printed fabric by Heidi Rand of Garden Delights Arts & Crafts.

Sides show a variety of birds, including a heron and an owl. Fabric stitched together and opens into lavender-colored box. Feathery attachments add a whimsical touch.

Hand-painted Japanese ceramic bowl, 8½” in diameter, with attached ceramic stand (3” high). Design depicts kimonoed villagers walking towards a house, and a bridge over a river with mountains, trees and birds in the background. Sides painted with birds and flowers.

A lovely dish for serving or display.

SOLD!! 1950's Vintage Crocheted Afghan

Granny square quilt. The outside of the squares are hunter green. The designs inside range greatly in color. Many incorporate a light green or gray-green. Some are two or three colors and symmetrical, while others use rainbow thread that changes from white to light blue to dark blue or orange to brown to red, etc. Some squares use a combination of red, white, and black.

 1950's Vintage Crocheted Heavy Granny Square Afghan

This heavy wool afghan made is about 5x11 feet, has granny squares, and the dominant color is hunter green with a variety of colors in the squares.

 From the donor, Doris Wachsler:
This quilt was crocheted by my grandmother, Franzisca Spatt, a Viennese lady whose family made fine linens (for bed and table) in Vienna in 1900 or thereabouts. She made this afghan around 1950-1960. She was a perfectionist, everything she made is superbly crafted and will wear well. (I have one she made for me when I went to college in 1955 and I have used it often all these years). I think this afghan is wool, but might be wool and acrylic; I don't know for sure.
This item comes from a smoke-free, pet-free environment.
